These photos show our new replacement boards for the
0 gauge layout HASSELL HARBOUR BRIDGE. These are replacing the four
old boards from what we call the three penny shaped end of the layout.
Three of those boards were over 25 years old and quite narrow in
places, 18 inches and made with chipboard tops. The new boards are
made out of ply and are to the standard width of the other boards
3ft. This has allowed us to have larger radius track with two passing
loops and the opportunity to have more scenery.
The new boards have made the layout 55mm longer
than with the old boards, most of the extra width being inside the
perimeter of the layout. We are installing a road over bridge( see
Photo ) that was made by Bert Proctor the oldest member of the 0
gauge team which was part of our previous layout. Most of the track
is now laid so it allows us to run stock on our running nights.
Further photos well be on the web site showing the development and
scenery.
